How do I register as a Teacher/ Institution in ER-Central?
1. In the home page, click on Register as Teacher/Institution
2. Fill out the registration form. Click Sign Up.
3. Once logged in, the Teacher/Institution page should look like this:
How can I create classes?
- Log in to your Teacher/Institution account
2. Click Add Class
3. Fill in the Class Details. Click Submit.
4. The Class Name will appear in your Institution home page along with the Class Code.
(Take note of the class code because you will need it to Bulk Upload later on.)
How can I set the start and end date of a class?
1.When creating a new class, you will be asked to input this information
- Add the dates you wish
3. Click Submit
How can I extend a class?
- In the Institution home page, click on the Class Name
2 . The Class Window will appear. Click Extend Class
3. Put in the desired date and Submit
How can I bulk upload students to my class?
- In the Institution home page, click on Bulk Registration > Bulk Upload
2. Download the Excel spreadsheet template
3.Delete the sample information in the Excel template and enter your students’ data
4.Save the Excel file as .xls format.
5.Upload the students list.
How can I download students’ data from specific dates/months?
1.Click on Legacy Download Data
2. Choose the inclusive dates in the report
How can I download data of ALL STUDENTS?
1.Log in.
2.Go to Institution Home
3. Click on the ALL STUDENTS
4.Click on Download All Students
How can I download a single student’s data?
1. Log in.
2.Go to Institution Home
3.Click on ALL STUDENTS
4. Click on the student’s username
5. You may download the students Reading or Listening data
How do I find the Class Code?
The class code is generated after a class is created.
It can be found in the Institution home page, along with the class names.

What can teachers/Institutions do in ER-Central?
You can:
- Create classes
- Set start and end dates of classes
- Bulk upload students list and log in information
- Download students’ reading and listening progress data
How do I register my students?
- Create a new class or add students to an existing class
- Upload students list and information via bulk upload feature.
- If a student has an existing account in ER-Central, simply provide the class code, and he can enter it manually in his settings.
How can I monitor their progress?
Students’ progress may be monitored by downloading their data through the Legacy Download Data feature.
Can I download students’ data?
Yes. You can download students’ data. It can be:
- The data for all students in detail
- The summary data for the class
- An individual student’s data
Can I download the data from specific dates/months?
Yes. You may use this form
How do I extend the class?
- In the Institution home page, click on Class Name
- The Class window will appear
- Click on the Extend Class button.
- In the Extend Date field, specify the desired date.
- Submit
Can students be registered to two classes?
No. They need a second username to do this.
They are already using ER-Central. How do I assign them to a class?
- Create the class
- Give the students the class code
- They login with their account
- They enter the class code in their Settings

How do I know my Reading level?
- Log in.
2. In the student home page, click on What’s My Level?
3. Choose Reading test from the dropdown menu
4.A Reading Scale will appear.
5.Hover the cursor over the numbers in the scale.
It will give you different texts to read.
You know you are in the correct level when there are no more than 1-2 unknown words in the text. Click Choose this level
How do I know my Listening level?
1.Log in.
2.In the student home page, click What’s My Level?
3.Choose Listening from the dropdown menu
4.A Listening Scale will appear.
5.Click the speaker icon to hear a text. If you can understand it easily, go to the next level up. If it’s hard, go to the next level down. Choose the highest level that you can listen to easily. Then select Choose this level.
Where are the Reading and Listening Libraries?
1.In the home page, select Reading Library
2. Or click on Reading Room, then choose Reading Library from the dropdown menu
How can I choose the right text to read for my level?
1.Go to the Reading Library. On the left panel, you may search for texts by level. Simply select your reading level from the dropdown menu.
2.Texts for your level will be displayed on the right.
How can I find a specific text in the library?
- Go to the Reading Library.
On the left panel, type in the title of the text in the search box.
2.Click Search.
How can I check my reading comprehension?
- After reading a text, click the Finished button.
2. Click on Take a Quiz.
3.It will open the quiz window. You have 3 minutes to answer the questions. You can only take this test ONE time.
4.Click Submit to get your score.
Getting less than 100% means your reading comprehension still needs improvement.
What are Reading and Listening Bookmarks?
Bookmarks let you mark some texts so you can easily find them later.
When you select a text to read, it opens a small window where you can
click the Bookmark it! button.
Where can I find my bookmarked texts?
1.To get your bookmarked texts, hover your cursor over Reading Room.
2.Select Reading Bookmarks from the dropdown menu.
3.It will open a list of your previously bookmarked texts.
How can I remove a text from my bookmarked list?
- To delete a text from your list of bookmarked list, go to Reading (or Listening) Bookmarks,
- Click on the trash bin icon next to the text you want to remove.
What is speed reading?
Speed Reading helps you monitor how many words you can read per minute.
This is helpful if your goal is to become a faster reader.
How can I do speed reading?
- You need to bookmark a text first before you can practice speed reading it.
2.Hover your cursor over Reading Room and select Speed Reading. It will open your bookmarked texts.
3.Choose the text you want to use. Click Read Text.
4.Select Speedy Reader.
5.Start reading. Once finished, click I finished.
6.It will show your reading speed and number of words read.
What can I find in the Listening Room?
In the Listening Room, you can find the Listening Library and the Listening Bookmarks
Where is the Listening Room?
- Hover the cursor on Listening Room.
- Choose Listening Library from the dropdown menu.
What can I find in the Vocabulary Room?
In the Vocabulary Room you can find Learn My Words, Games and Add Words
What is Learn My Words?
Learn My Words is a self-check test where you can familiarize yourself with new words.
How do I use Learn My Words?
- Select a wordlist to learn.
2.Click Start
3.If you know the word well, click ‘I know it’.
If you don’t know the word well, click ‘I think I know it’.
If you don’t know the word well, click ‘I think I know it’.
Some words will appear again often.
Try to get all the words in Box 6.
4. Play some games to test your learning.
What Games are available in ER-Central?
We have four fun games: Find the Pairs, Shoot em up, Find the Word and Beat the Clock
How do I play Find the Pairs?
- You have to find a word and its translation
- Click the tiles until you find a pair.
- Keep going until you found them all.
- Race the clock!
- When you have found all the words, click “Next Set”, or choose another game with “Back to Game list”
How do I play Shoot em up?
- Check the given word at the bottom of the screen.
- Shoot the falling bubble that contains the correct meaning or translation before it hits the ground
How do I play Find the Word?
- Pick the right word for the given definition.
- You may click I don’t know if you’re unfamiliar with the word
How do I play Beat the Clock?
1.Type the correct word in the blank
How can I add words to my Word List?
- Hover the cursor on Vocabulary Room. Select Add Words.

How do I know my progress?
- Log in to your account.
- At the top menu, select My Progress.
3.Click on All My Data to show more information
How can I send my progress data to my teacher?
- Click on My Progress.
- At the bottom left part of the page, it will give you an option to send your data to your teacher.
- Type in your teacher’s Email ID and the dates you want to be included in the report.
My teacher gave me a class code. What do I do with it?
Your teacher will provide you with a class code if you have an existing ER-Central account. Otherwise, you will be given a User ID and password to log in.
- Log in to your account. Click on your username.
2. You will be asked to type in your class code. Click Join Class.
